A unique charity; an outdoor-based programme specifically
designed for women who have, or have had, breast cancer
Welcome to the website of Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland. We provide an opportunity for women whose lives have been profoundly affected by breast cancer to gather on fully funded retreats in natural settings across Britain and Ireland to learn the sport of fly fishing. Just as importantly, retreats offer an opportunity to meet new friends, exchange information and have fun.
MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE APPLIED TO ATTEND THE BROOKHALL AND KIMBRIDGE RETREATS. BOTH ARE NOW CLOSED TO APPLICATIONS. THOSE SUCCESSFUL IN THE KIMBRIDGE BALLOT WILL BE NOTIFIED SHORTLY.
Our retreats incorporate counselling and educational information, and volunteer staff include trained a psycho-social therapistas well as fly-fishing instructors.
Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland is now in its sixth year of operation and over 200 ladies have been through the programme.In the coming year we will be holding retreats in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland – you can apply below. Please note that places on retreat are allocated by ballot and are subject to medical clearance. Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland relies on the generosity of its donors, the Countryside Alliance, Orvis, Big Yellow storage and numerous fundraisers held at retreat venues including Forbes of Kingennie, Brookhall and Mount Falcon. |
