Davy McPhail print benefits CfR!
Huge thanks to Davy McPhail, who has donated the £100 proceeds of his Fatback Tubes fly print raffle to Casting for Recovery. The raffle was held at the Glasgow Angling Centre - Open Weekend in late February. The print was commissioned in conjunction with Merlin Unwin, publishers of Chris Mann's Complete Illustrated Directory of Salmon Flies GAC in which the print features. The print was signed by both the author and the fly-tyer. This donation will be ploughed straight into CfR's important work and is much needed ahead of our seven-retreat year!
Thank you Kenmore!
Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland would like to extend a huge vote of thanks to all at the Kenmore Hotel in Perthshire for the sumptuous dinner and auction they held to raise funds for us in mid-October 2008. The occasion was the end of the salmon fishing season at the hotel on the banks of Loch Tay and over £5,000 was raised towards 2009's programme of retreats.
The Fly Mouse
This fly/mouse (who goes by the name of Casper) was tied by Don Ordes who lives in Casper, Wyoming. Casper was one of the raffle prizes at Keith Passant's fundraiser.

£15,000 + fundraiser “will make a huge difference”
Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland was delighted to be the beneficiary of funds well in excess of £15,000 thanks to London-based recruitment company Prima Principia’s recent annual charity fishing day at Dever Springs in Hampshire.
The day included fly fishing for 45 people and also a lunch auction which was extremely generously supported. The monies raised will go towards funding idyllic weekend fly fishing retreats for women who have, or have had, breast cancer.
Fundraising for CfR
Over the weekend of May 17th and 18th 2008, Keith Passant of North Wilts Fly-Fishing Club with support from club members completed a 24 hour fly-tying session at the Orvis Shop, Burford. Read on for Keith's account of his marathon challenge, for which Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland is immensely grateful. (the pic on the left is the Cinderella fly, tied by Davie McPhail using the CfR colours, and named by Davie's daughter Emily. Thanks to both!)
