We are delighted to give you a heads-up of the dates of our retreats in 2018. As ever we will hold a series of 2-day residential fly fishing therapy retreats across the UK and Ireland, and we are excited and thrilled to announce that in 2018 we will be going to two beautiful fisheries that are new to our programme: Garnffrwd in Carmarthenshire and Brick Lane Farm near Herstmonceux in East Sussex.

The 40th Casting for Recovery retreat was held in Hampshire over the weekend (21-23 July) when 11 ladies braved torrential conditions to catch their first trout.

In Woman’s Way magazine in mid-July 2017, Real Lives columnist Michelle Newman wrote “An unlikely initiative is helping breast cancer survivors all over the country. For over ten years Casting for Recovery have held free retreats in Ireland and the UK for women whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. The ladies who attend not only get the opportunity to learn the sport of fly fishing, they also get to meet other women who have been through similar experiences.
One of Casting for Recovery UK & Ireland’s team members, Lottie Weston (pictured), an oncology specialist nurse who has worked in the breast cancer sphere for many years, is running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise funds for the charitable project. The half marathon will take place on 8th October and Lottie is already in training.
